Hoyt defeats Parrish, Miller and Minus win in 2026 primary elections
Results for the 2026 primary elections are in. Comal County ended with a 28% voter turnout, with 41,359 out of 147,515 registered voters casting ballots.
Kristen Hoyt took the Republican ticket for the County Judge seat at 67.27% of the vote with 18,431 ballots in her favor. Kayne Parrish came in second with 21.84% and 5,985 votes, while Deb Hindman earned 10.89% with 2,983 votes. With no Democratic candidate, Hoyt will begin her term in 2027 following the general election in November.
“I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me,” Hoyt said in her acceptance speech. “I do not take it lightly, and I will not let you down. While this election delivers a clear mandate, I want to be equally clear about something else: I will serve as county judge for every citizen of Comal County – whether you voted for me, against me or did not vote at all. The office belongs to the people, and I intend to honor that … I am committed to honoring [Judge Sherman Krause’s] legacy by serving with the same humility and care he showed.”
